Telkom lines stolen in your area?
Setting-up a temporary office and need telephone services? Moved to
another premises and waiting for Telkom to install your lines? Or need a
backup telephone and internet service for when your Telkom lines goes
down for whatever reason...
Fixed line telephone
service over wireless 3G network
Small
business alternative internet and telephone services
What
happens if your Telkom lines go down? It can take Telkom days or even
weeks to fix the problem.
Or there is Telkom cable theft in your
area. It can take Telkom months to repair the cables. We talk from
experience because we have been waiting for over 3 months for Telkom to
repair the cable theft in our area.
If you have a small business
thats dependant on Internet and land line telephones, then being in the
dark for days or weeks can seriously harm your business
Now there
is a backup option for when your Telkom lines go down. I'll be
explaining briefly on how it works and the costs involved.
First
we need to look at a company called Vox Telecom . They have a VOIP
telephone service that is very easy to install and their rates are
cheaper than Telkom. Example: The Telkom rate to
landline numbers (standard time) is 65c p/minute ,
but the Vox Telecom rate to Telkom land line numbers is 39c p/minute.
The
Vox system is a unit that you plug into your ADSL router (via a normal network cable into one of the LAN connectors). Wireless handsets then connect to the unit which makes it
possible for you to make and receive calls. You receive a 087 number on
which you can receive calls, but it all works on VoIP. The voice quality
is as good as a Telkom line with no delays.
Because VoIP is a
internet based service, it uses some of your monthly data cap, but its
not much, you might look at about a 100 MB p/month
Making calls

revenue your receive on incoming calls)

Vox setup and monthly charges:
Setup fee -
R300 once-off
Monthly charge - R225 p/m of which R25 is for line
rental and R200 is for Talk time

To the left is a image of the unit
that plugs into your normal ADLS router (modem) and the wireless
handset. More handsets can be linked to the unit and calls can be
transferred from one handset to another handset. There are no cash
outlay for the hardware, its part of your monthly charges. If you cancel
your services with Vox then the hardware will be returned to them
Now
what if you want to use Vox but you dont have ADSL or your ADSL is
down?
The solution...
The Huawei B970 is a 3G router. How it works
is you insert a normal cellphone simcard into the router. You then load
a data bundle onto the simcard. The B970 has 4 LAN connectors and WiFi,
so you can connect multiple computers to the router and they will all
share the same 3G internet connection.
Now for the magic. You can
plug your Vox unit into one of the LAN connectors and your Vox unit
will use the 3G connection to make and receive calls. Call quality is
perfect with no delays, if you have good 3G reception. You are welcome
to call one of our numbers that works on 3G to test the call quality -
087 802 5067
Costs:
The retail price of the Huawei B970 is
about R3000, but Computer Wholesalers resellers can buy them for about
R2100. We suggest keeping at least 1 in-stock if you are going to market
this to your clients because stock is very limited on this unit and can
sometimes take weeks to get your hands on one.
Then you need a
3G service. Only Vodacom and MTN has a 3G network. We have tested Vox on
both these networks and have had no problems with both.
We suggest
using prepaid 3G and not a contract, because if multiple people use the
same 3G connection then you or your client could get a unexpected bill
for data usage if you are on contract. With prepaid you can better
manage your data costs.
With prepaid 3G you simply load airtime
onto the simcard and convert it to a data bundle.
For more details on
Vodacom data bundle prices, click here
We sell MTN and Vodacom
simcards to our resellers at R5 each. Our resellers then earn commission
on the monthly usage of the simcards. (Vodacom - 5%, MTN - 2%)
So we
suggest that resellers recommend Vodacom to their clients because of
the higher revenue that can be earn. However use a MTN simcard if MTN
coverage if better in that area.
Another option is to give your
client both a MTN and Vodacom simcard, so they have a backup should
there be coverage problems with one of the networks.
Quadruple
revenue for resellers:
If you register as a Vox dealer then you earn
commission on your clients monthly Vox telephone bill. A small to medium
sized business can easily have a telephone bill of R3000 p/month. Your
Vox commission on that is roughly 5%.
To register as a Vox dealer
will cost you R780 once-off. As a Vox dealer you will also be able sell
other services like 3G contracts, Uncapped ADSL, Pastel online &
VOIP PABX systems
Click here to register as a Vox dealer.
To
earn commission on the usage of prepaid simcards you will also need to
register as a Computer Wholesalers reseller which starts from R200
p/month. Click here to register
So as a Vox dealer and a CW
reseller you have the potential to earn quadruple on a single client.
Example:
1.
Profit on the sale of the B970 3G router - R900 (R3000 selling - R2100
cost)
2. Labour charge for installation - R500
3. R150 per month
commission on your clients telephone bill (of R3000)
4. R50 per month
commission on their 3G usage (of R1000 on Vodacom)
